SPLIT LEVEL was a group show of 80 students from the BERLIN UNIVERSITY OF THE ARTS with support of STUDIERENDENWERK BERLIN. On three levels of an unused car park, various artistic and creative disciplines came together, accompanied by performances and music.
The concept behind the graphic design of the exhibition was directly related to the location of the show; the abandoned 1800sqm car park at Potsdamer Straße in Berlin. Based on a parking ticket, the implementation of all media has always referred to the flyer, which at first glance looks confusingly similar. All information carriers of the exhibition – from the flyer to the exhibition poster to the information text of an artwork – have been realized with an 80mm thermal printer.
● Location: KUNSTRAUM POTSDAMER STRAßE, STUDIERENDEN WERK BERLIN, Claudia Brieske
● Participating classes and labs: KLASSE GESTALTUNG DES BEWEGTEN BILDES – Prof. Anna Anders, Alexander Peterhaensel, KLASSE RAUMBEZOGENES ENTWERFEN & AUSSTELLUNGSGESTALTUNG – Prof. Gabi Schillig, Ruven Wiegert, KLASSE GENERATIVE KUNST / COMPUTATIONAL ART – Prof. Alberto de Campo, Hannes Hölzl, KLASSE GRUNDLAGEN DES ENTWERFEN – Prof. Ulrich Schwarz, Prof. Anna Anders, Henrike Uthe, LABOR FÜR FOTOGRAFIE – Sebastian Herold
